About the role:

We are looking for a HVAC Estimation Engineer to join our Air Conditioning Contracts Department at our Head Office in Mt Wellington.

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound cost estimates for HVAC projects across the tender and pre-construction phases.

Working closely with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and clients, the Estimation Engineer gathers and analyses pricing intelligence, interprets mechanical drawings and specifications, and prepares detailed bid submissions that reflect a thorough understanding of project risks.

This role focusses on translating technical scope into viable project bids that balance client value with company margin.

The key skills and experience required for this role include:

• Minimum of 5 Years experience in estimation in the HVAC Mechanical Services Industry.

• Bachelor of Engineering or similar tertiary Qualification with sound knowledge of New Zealand Building Codes and other relevant design and performance standards.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Strong relationship-building skills.

• Effective negotiation skills.

• Comfortable working with BIM models, PDF markups, and CAD drawings, extracting measurement data efficiently using digital tools.
