About the role:

We have a vacancy available for a Product Development Engineer - Refrigeration Systems in our Tauranga Operations Manufacturing and Support branch located in Mt Maunganui. In this role, you will work on creating reliable and cost-effective solutions with a focus on improving designs to make systems work better. The key skills required for this role include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10-15 years of relevant experience in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, refrigeration systems and heating products design and technical knowledge.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with CAD (Autodesk, Revit), CFD, analysis tools, ERP/MRP systems, BOM, and ECN control software.

• Experience designing cost-effective, reliable refrigeration systems and components.

• Experience with data acquisition, digital signal processing, and tools like LabVIEW, Matlab, or other sensor systems.

• Hands-on experience with design-for-manufacture and the ability to solve complex refrigeration and mechanical problems with practical design solutions.

• Strong analytical skills to assess risks, reduce costs, and create efficiencies in project schedules.

• Excellent self-management skills including record keeping and analysis.

• Knowledge of refrigeration systems design, implementation, testing, and validation is a plus.

• Must be comfortable working autonomously, managing their own time and workload, as well as being a part of a high functioning team.

• Strong verbal and written communication, including documentation and report writing skills.

• Commercial acumen

• Be customer and results focused, have integrity, and be a proven team-player.
